"To me, the narrative these songs form is a ghost story gone to hell.
It starts with the murder of two lovers by drowning; they probably had it coming.
I envisioned a massive ship sabotaged and lost to the waves, with the lovers aware of who had orchestrated their deaths.
Their bodies drown but their spirits refuse to dissipate into the next stage of their respective journeys and they wander disoriented into unknown lands. They try to come to terms with their situations, but alas, they turn on one another and go their separate ways, losing themselves to madness and despair.
The ghosts can only properly interact with one another and they are grudgingly drawn back to each other. They reconcile and commit themselves to a ritual wherein they sacrifice one another's souls to hell for the payment of taking their murderer with them, trading their tormented wanderings for the satisfaction of vengeance. As they descend to hell dragging their murderer with them, they experience an elated joy.
As a listener you get to create your own narrative to go with these sounds I have conjured up. That is a wonderful thing and my interpretation is not as important as you may think, but I thought you might be entertained by reading it."
